At the South West London Integrated Care Board (SWL ICB), we are committed to providing safe, high-quality services for all patients and service users. Our staff work tirelessly to support our communities, often under demanding circumstances.
We have a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of abuse, aggression or violence directed at our staff.
This statement specifically applies to behaviour from patients, relatives, visitors and members of the public in any interaction or setting. Abuse includes verbal abuse, physical violence, harassment or any behaviour that causes distress or harm. This includes harmful or abusive behaviour expressed through written, verbal or digital channels, including social media posts, messages or online interactions that target, intimidate or undermine staff.
Such actions are unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
The safety and wellbeing of our staff are paramount. We expect all interactions with healthcare professionals to be carried out with respect and courtesy. Where abusive or threatening behaviour occurs, we will take swift and appropriate action, which may include the involvement of law enforcement or exclusion from services.
We thank patients, visitors and partners for their support in ensuring that our teams can continue to work safely and respectfully.
