Thousands of people are benefiting after a Croydon GP practice moved into state-of-the-art premises featuring a host of consulting and treatment rooms.
East Croydon Medical Centre moved into the four-storey building following a multi-million pound redevelopment of its Addiscombe Road site.
The practice’s home boasts a range of purpose-built facilities that it says “ensures the highest quality healthcare and ease of access” for patients.
Our amazing new building gives us more consulting and treatment rooms, allowing us to offer all face-to-face appointment for our patients.

They include 25 consultation rooms, eight treatment rooms for nurses and three spacious reception areas together with disabled and lift access to all floors.
There is also an expanded practice team, with 11 GPs as well as a team of pharmacists and paramedics on site.
They are joined by two advanced nurse practitioners, registered nurses with extra training who can assess, diagnose, refer and treat patients with undiagnosed problems, a health and wellbeing coach and a social prescriber who support patients who have non-medical factors affecting their health and wellbeing such as housing problems, weight loss journeys and lack of motivation to follow treatment plans.
East Croydon’s practice manager Sana Khan said: “Our amazing new building gives us more consulting and treatment rooms, allowing us to offer all face-to-face appointment for our patients, unless patients choose to have a telephone consultation, and the new layout makes the practice more accessible for patients with disabilities.
“We have over 22,000 patients registered with us who are now benefitting from the redevelopment and we are growing daily.
“We were delivering good care to our patients at the old site, even though it was becoming increasingly unsuitable for the services we wanted to provide. However, our new building exceeds our expectations – our staff love it and patients have been leaving us amazing reviews.”
NHS South West London has been working in partnership with the practice, council, NHS England and others to ensure the practice meets the needs of the local population.
We’re thrilled to have backed this development which gives healthcare in Croydon a real boost.

The redevelopment involved partially demolishing an existing three-storey building and the construction of the new steel framed four-storey medical centre, which is only around a mile from the practice’s temporary base in Edridge Road.
Matthew Kershaw, Place Based Leader for Health in Croydon, said: “We’re thrilled to have backed this development which gives healthcare in Croydon a real boost.
“This state-of-the art medical centre is an important development for the local community, providing much-needed extra space and additional modern facilities for both patients and staff.
“It is a big asset for local patients – ensuring everyone has access to high-quality primary care in a great environment – and will no doubt serve the area very well in the years ahead.”
The practice is open from 8am to 6.30pm on weekdays. More information about the centre can be found on the practice website.
