The NHS in South West London is working closely with NHS England to prepare for the roll out of weight loss drug tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) across the NHS*.
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recently made an announcement describing how it will be rolled out in 2025.

Like all other ICBs across the country, we are working to understand how to best set up services to support the delivery of these weight loss drugs. In the interim we encourage you to explore existing weight loss options that are already available.
Tirzepatide is currently not available from your GP and will initially only be available to those with the highest clinical need
There are a number of weight loss management programmes you may wish to consider, including:
- Croydon Live Well services
- Wandsworth
- Richmond
- One You Merton
- Sutton healthy lifestyles
- Connected Kingston
- NHS digital weight management programme
- NHS diabetes prevention programme
- Type 2 diabetes remission programme (T2DR)
Specialist weight management services can be accessed via your GP if you meet the criteria.
*The treatment is currently only available for those with Type 2 diabetes who meet the criteria.
